Etere Data Mover also allows copying media by using external executable files, which are usually developed for performing custom copies based on the storage devices managed during the copy process.
Once saved, Etere Data Mover actions will be available as action blocks ready to be included within T-workflows. To configure the 'External Mover Exe' action, the following parameters need to be set in the Configuration Editor module:
• Source, Destination, Codec & Basic Settings: Must be compiled as explained in Creating a new action.
• Command line: Select the executable file to be used for executing the moving process. Please note that, optionally, some execution parameters can be added as in the following example:
executable.exe -IPC %0:s -in "????%1:s" -out "?????%1:s" -embedded
where executable.exe is the executable file to be launched by the action, and the parameters are:
Supported parameters:
-IPC - IPC (InterProcess Communication) window handle, used, for example, to avoid multiple instances.
-in -Source UNC path specifies the input file(s).
-out - Destination UNC path specifies the output file name and location.
-host - IP address, specifies remote media server to handle copy.
-embedded - Embed media files in output movie (self-contained).
-progress - Gives you feedback on the progress of the copy.
-replace - Overwrite any existing file of the same name.
Please note that by pressing the buttons [+] and [-], which are present at the left of this field, it will be possible to add and remove the current command line to the dropdown list that allows a quick selection of recently used command-lines.
Supported Executables
An "external mover exe" action can be created for the following executables:
For Any Executable
For Omneon Devices (OmExec.exe)
For SeaChange Devices (CccExec.exe)
For Grass Valley Profile Devices (XfrExec.exe)
For Conforming (EtConform.exe)
For Import Subtitle (Etere.CC.Import.exe)
NB: Please note that any other executable file can be used besides the ones above; you might need to contact the executable supplier to get a list of the supported parameters.
Available Environment Variables
When performing actions, Etere Data Mover can automatically read all supported environment variables from the system. Variables can be used as parameters in the command line to allow an accurate and more customised T-workflow execution:
copy.bat -jobid=%3:s -o:(%5:s-%6:s) -log=%4:s
NB: For a detailed list of runtime data available for use, please refer to the Supported runtime variables. Click here chapter.
